Ice Pop Paradise

Ice Pop Paradise

Warm temperatures are still in season, so please palates young and old with cool, refreshing ice pops. Store-bought varieties are convenient but can be uninspiring and often full of sugar. Break open a package of ice pop molds and make your own frozen treats at home.

Ice pops can be frozen up to four days before serving.

No-Dairy Cherry Almond
(Serves 8-10)
  • 2 cups pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • Pinch fine salt
Puree all ingredients in a blender or in a bowl with a high-power immersion blender until smooth.

Pour into ice pop molds, dividing evenly. Insert ice pop sticks and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.


Strawberry Buttermilk
(Serves 8-10)
  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Pinch fine salt
Puree all ingredients in a blender or in a bowl with a high-power immersion blender until smooth.

Pour into ice pop molds, dividing evenly. Insert ice pop sticks and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.


Cucumber, Agave and Mint
(Serves 8-10)
  • 2 large English cucumbers, chopped (about 6 cups)
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup agave nectar
  • Pinch fine salt
Puree all ingredients in a blender or in a bowl with a high-power immersion blender until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer and press with a spatula to remove the liquid.

Evenly divide into ice pop molds. Insert ice pop sticks and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.


"Grapple," Banana and Kale
(Serves 8-10)
  • 1 green apple, chopped
  • 2 cups white grape juice
  • 2 cups seedless green grapes
  • 2 cups stemmed and torn kale
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • Pinch fine salt
Puree all ingredients in a blender or in a bowl with a high-power immersion blender until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer and press with a spatula to remove the liquid.

Evenly divide mixture into ice pop molds. Insert ice pop sticks and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.
