Gold Is Still a Good Investment

Gold Is Still a Good Investment

Gold is a precious metal revered for centuries, not only for its beauty, but for its value. Gold, especially in the form of bullion coins or bars, is a good way to hedge against inflation as gold prices rise when the cost of living increases. Let's look at several reasons why gold is a good investment.

Gold prices keep going up. When the value of the dollar decreases, people tend to buy gold for financial security, which causes the price of gold to go up. In 2008, gold cost $1,000 an ounce and at the end of 2019, an ounce of gold costs about $1,475.

Gold holds its values during uncertain times. When there is a financial crisis, such as we saw in 2008, people turn to gold. During geopolitical uncertainty, trade wars, or when there are tensions with other countries, gold prices hold their value or go up.

There's a limited supply. There is only so much gold to go around and it's quite costly to establish a new gold mine. With limited supply, demand increases, raising the value of this precious metal.

It diversifies your financial portfolio. Investing in gold is a great way to diversify your portfolio. Because it generally holds its value and prices tend to rise, gold is great to add to your collection of Stocks and Bonds.

Gold coins are easy to sell. Gold coins are recognizable and easy to sell making them a good liquid investment. In the United States, the North American Eagle coin is a good gold coin to own. If you're purchasing gold coins for an investment, it's better to stay away from specialty or commemorative gold coins as they're not as easy to sell and are generally more expensive to buy.

Find a reputable gold dealer and begin investing in this precious metal today.
