5 Easy Home DIYs You Can Do Yourself

When it comes to making updates to your home, it can get pretty expensive to decorate and organize. Don't let the cost of fixing up your home deter you, as there are plenty of DIY projects that you can do yourself.

Turn a suitcase into a table. Old, hard-covered suitcases can make a great storage table. Screw legs into the bottom of the suitcase and keep linens in there. When closed, the suitcase table is an excellent place to set your cup of coffee.

Make a hanging garden with a closet organizer. Bring your closet organizer outside and stuff it with your favorite herbs or vegetables instead of shoes.

Add drawer pulls and cabinet knobs to cabinets. Renovating your entire kitchen is an extremely costly endeavor, so why not give your cabinets a facelift yourself? Examine the cabinets and determine which spot would work best for the handles.

Lay peel-and-stick vinyl flooring. Consider updating the floors in one of your smaller rooms, such as a powder room or laundry area, and use this type of vinyl flooring. It's relatively inexpensive, and you can complete this task in less than a day.

Create a custom accent wall. Find your favorite pattern, and stencil that pattern on an accent wall. This is a cheaper alternative than wallpapering an entire wall.

The best part about all of these projects is that you likely have many materials already at your home. Even if you don't, simply head for a quick trip to your local home improvement store. Once you get home, you can get started on these five easy DIY projects.
