4 Digital Declutter Tips While maintaining a digital life can provide you access to a seemingly limitless world of information, you might feel overwhelmed and burned out from this abundance of data. Undergoing a digital declutter can help you to reorganize and possibly remove some of that information to give you a more streamlined system. To get started with decluttering, follow these four tips: Unsubscribe to email subscriptions. Email is one area that can feel completely overwhelming, especially if you have dozens or hundreds of unread emails. Scan your inbox for any e-newsletters that you don't read and click the unsubscribe button. Clean up your desktop. When you turn on your computer, is your desktop completely covered by random files? Drag any files that you don't use to the recycle bin, and sort the remainders by kind. Delete unnecessary bookmarks. Go through your browser bookmarks to determine what you can declutter. Remove duplicate versions of bookmarks as well as inactive pages. Cut down on apps. Don't forget to declutter your smartphone. Delete infrequently used apps; you can access the information via a company's website in many situations. Decluttering your digital life can make you feel more productive since you can avoid potential distractions of unnecessary information. By following just a few decluttering tips, you can reorganize your files to create more mental space for what's truly important.
