Then there are those places that spark your imagination and transform your stay into an experience you'll never forget. As you make your summer travel plans, consider a unique venue like these. If you are into horror films, the three hotels that inspired or were somehow featured in "The Shining" include the Timberline Lodge in Oregon, the Majestic Yosemite Hotel in California and the Stanley Hotel in Colorado.
