Football playoffs, basketball season and hockey season are in full swing, and that means keeping those hungry fans content. Nachos, chips and crisped baguette dishes are an easy, inexpensive way to win the game. And you can prepare several ingredient combinations to score a great play!

Tex-Mex Nachos
(Serves 6)
  • 8 cups of tortilla chips
  • 1 can refried or black beans
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar
  • 1 jar salsa
  • 1 can jalapeños (sliced or diced)
Simply spread 8 cups of tortilla chips on a rimmed baking sheet or in a shallow oven-safe dish. Top with 1 can refried or black beans and 3 cups shredded cheddar. Then bake for about 7 minutes at 450 degrees in the upper third of the oven until the cheese is melted. Top with salsa and pickled jalapeños.

Pita Pizazz
(Serves 4)
  • 4 cups pita chips
  • 1 cup hummus
  • 1 cup diced cucumber
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 1 cup feta cheese crumbles
  • 1/4 cup Kalamata olives
  • 1/4 cup red onion
  • 1/4 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1/4 cup oregano
If you want a delicious no-bake treat, simply spread pita chips on a serving platter and top with ingredients. Serve room temperature.

Pizza Supreme
(Serves 4)
  • Baguette (sliced lengthwise)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 Italian sausages (hot and sweet varieties)
  • 1 onion sliced thin
  • 1 bell pepper sliced thin
