Cookies and Cream Dessert Jar

Cookies and Cream Dessert Jar

It's still too hot to bake desserts. That is why these tasty little Cookies and Cream Dessert Jars are perfect. No baking required, they are super easy to make, and everyone will love them.

Serves 4

Ingredients:
  • 4 half-pint mason jars
  • 1 Ziploc bag
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies
  • 1 package of Jell-O Oreo Cookies 'n Creme pudding mix
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 tube of chocolate frosting
For the whipped cream:
  • 1 cup of whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon of Jell-O Oreo Cookies 'n Creme pudding mix (saved from the box)
  • 1 tablespoon of saved Oreo cookie crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
Directions:

Pour the dry pudding mix into a bowl and set aside a tablespoon of the dry mix for later. Add the milk to the mix and mix it until it is a nice, thick consistency. Cover the bowl and set it in the refrigerator to chill. Next, take about 15 of the Oreo cookies and put them into a Ziploc bag. Use something to smash the cookies with so they become crumbs. A meat tenderizer works well for this step.

Prep the pre-washed jars by putting a bit of frosting around the rim of the jar and add cookie crumbles to the frosting so they adhere. Next, spoon some Oreo cookie crumbs into the jars (save a bit for the final garnish) and then fill the jars with the chilled pudding mix. Take your whipping cream ingredients and blend them together until nice and creamy. Top the jars with whipped cream, add one Oreo cookie to the top, and sprinkle the remaining cookie crumbs over the dessert.

You could easily make these with fresh strawberries, strawberry pudding, and Vanilla Wafers as well.
