Creamy Garlic Shrimp

Life can sometimes get a little crazy, so it's a good idea to have a quick and easy delicious meal in your repertoire. This 15-minute meal, which includes prep time, features juicy jumbo shrimp tossed into a creamy cheese sauce. It's a comforting seafood dinner that you can serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes. Whatever option you choose, this dish is pure comfort food. It serves between four to six people.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 pounds jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons white wine
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat for two minutes. The oil should be sizzling hot. Add the shrimp, and sear for two to three minutes on each side until they turn pink and are fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
  2. Add butter and garlic to the same skillet. Saute until fragrant, about one minute. Add the wine, and stir well.
  3. Add heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and white cheddar cheese. Stir well, and bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium, and continue stirring until the sauce thickens to desired consistency.
  4. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, and toss well to coat.
  5. Garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
