If you want to create a new aesthetic in your home with your fireplace, consider creating a fireplace cover. A fireplace cover is simply a screen or door that goes over the opening in your fireplace to help give your home a little extra creative decor. Transform It into a Book Case. One excellent idea for a fireplace cover is to create a small bookcase that can fit inside the fireplace. To add a fun pop of color to your home, consider painting the back of your bookcase in a bright and bold shade. If you love to read, stick a comfortable chair and small table next to your fireplace, and then stack a few of your favorite books on the bookcase to create the ideal reading nook. Even if you don't want a reading nook, a bookcase creates a fantastic storage option to display pictures and other mementos. Add Color With a Graphic Screen. If you think your empty fireplace is a boring eyesore, placing a graphic screen that has a bold geometric pattern is another outstanding way to bring some extra style to your room. You can let your creativity shine by making your own screen. All you have to do is trace a pattern on a piece of plywood and use paint to fill in the pattern. However, if you're not feeling very creative, you can also purchase a graphic screen. Make It a Fun Space With A Mini Bar. For a little fun, turn your unused fireplace into a small bar. You can place a wine rack in the fireplace to hold your bottles, set up a few tables and chairs around the fireplace, and use the mantel to display glasses, tumblers, a cocktail shaker, and other bar accessories.
